Cosplay at Comic Market
Anyone can use the Cosplay Changing Rooms after entering the event. A 500 Yen registration fee applies.
Changing and Preparation Rules
- All cosplayers must use the Cosplay Changing Rooms to change.
- Arriving or leaving the venue in costume (from home, hotel, etc.) is not allowed, as Japanese society generally does not accept people in costume in public. You may be denied entry if you arrive in cosplay.
- Changing or doing makeup in the toilets is strictly prohibited.
About Entry
- All Comic Market participants, including cosplayers, must purchase a wristband or a ticket that can be exchanged for a wristband.
- On-site sales are limited to PM Entry wristbands, which allow entry only after 12:30. All other ticket types must be purchased in advance.
- Free entry is not available.
- For more details, see the Information for International Attendees.
Keep your wristband with you at all times during the event, even if you choose not to wear it while in costume.
When Arriving
- Change into your costume at one of the Cosplay Changing Rooms.
- Do not change or do makeup in the toilets.
- A 500 Yen registration fee is required for your first entry to the Changing Room each day. Pay at the entrance.
- One child up to 9th grade can enter for free with one paying adult.
- You will receive a Cosplay Registration leaflet (color varies by day), which also serves as a pass for re-entry to the Changing Room.
- Last entry to change into costume is at 15:30.
Photography
- You must get individual permission from each cosplayer before taking any photos. Wait your turn and ask politely.
- Do not hesitate to say NO if you do not want your picture taken, whether in general, in a specific pose, or if it is simply not a good time.
- Staff may stop a photo shoot if it becomes too crowded.
- Photos may be taken anywhere in the venue with permission and if it is safe (do not block walkways). Cosplay Areas are simply convenient gathering spots for cosplayers and photographers.
